Speaking to Digital Spy at last night’s National Television Awards, Lucy said she was “really excited” to be back on the cobbles.

“It’s good to be back with everybody – not hiding a baby bump anymore!” she said. “It’s nice to just be free! It’s exciting, I’m looking forward to everyone seeing it.”

Speaking further on how her character has transformed since her exit, which saw Bethany head to London to pursue dreams of being a journalist, the star said that “not much has changed for her really”.

Lucy confirmed back in July that she had been back filming scenes, sharing a mirror selfie with the words: “And just like that, she’s back.”

She previously assured fans that she wouldn’t “be away for toooo long”, adding: “I am returning after I pop the baby out.”

Back in January, Lucy confirmed the name of her baby as Nancy Margaret Ledson, calling the newborn “a dream come true”. She and Ryan also share a son called Sonny.
