Chanel tries to avoid telling Johnny about the mammogram, but he wants to know why she was at the hospital. She starts to tell the truth, but is interrupted by the arrival of Paulina and Trey before she can tell him about the questionable results. But once Paulina leaves with the baby, Chanel tells Johnny the truth: Her lump might be cancerous.

EJ Wants Revenge!

A distracted EJ is hanging out with Cat when Kristen enters the restaurant. Coincidence? Nah, she wants to be on hand when he gets the call about Johnny’s death! (Little does she know that her nephew is, at that moment, alive if not well, groggily telling Chanel what Sophia did to him!) Chanel calls EJ, who rushes out. Seeing Kristen across the room, Cat tells her that Johnny is in the hospital. “Is he dead?” asks Kristen, catching Cat off guard.

EJ is thrilled to see his son alive, and later fills Kristen in on what happened, including the rather elaborate plot cooked up by Sophia. “So byzantine,” declares Kristen. “Couldn’t she have just shot him?” Soon, Jada has a front row seat as the DiMera siblings toss accusations back and forth, each blaming the other for Sophia’s mental collapse. Just then, Jada receives a call saying that Sophia’s backpack and a shoe were found by the river. As Leo, EJ and Kristen listen, Jada orders that the river be dragged for a body.

Leo Still Loves Javi

Learning about the fire, Leo rushes to the hospital to check on Trey. Instead, he winds up in Javi’s room, instantly managing to make the struggling-to-breath Javi’s situation all about himself. Leo opens up, admitting he still cares for Javi. But the EMT says they need to stop having conversations like this and should, in essence, do their best to avoid one another. Before things can go much further, Sarah interrupts to run tests on her patient. Once Leo leaves, Sarah, seeing how emotional distraught Javi is, tells him gently, “It gets easier.”

Rafe Gets Jealous

Cat calls Rafe to update him on the Sophia situation. After getting assurances that he is alone, she heads over to the house… where they have a conversation they could have had over the phone. Rafe is clearly jealous when he learns Cat and EJ were out to dinner when he got news of his nephew’s hospitalization. She insists she’s doing her job with EJ and nothing more
