HUSBAND: BEING THOUGHTFUL. WIFE: I HAVE QUESTIONS…

The golden sands of Summer Bay are usually a place for romance, but next week, the air is thick with suspicion. While one husband thinks he’s playing the role of the century, his wife is starting to realize that “perfect” might just be a cover for something much darker.

THE “PERFECT” FRONT

Justin Morgan has always been the rock of his family, but lately, his behavior has Leah more than a little concerned. After the chaos of John Palmer moving in following his DIY disaster, Justin has gone into overdrive to keep the peace. From surprise candlelit dinners to constant reassurances that having John in their hair “isn’t a problem,” Justin is being the ultimate thoughtful husband.

But Leah knows Justin better than anyone, and the “Stepford Husband” routine is starting to grate. When she finds him huddled over his phone in the middle of the night, Justin claims he’s just looking up renovation tips to help John get back into his own house. However, a lingering glance at a hidden folder on his laptop suggests Justin is keeping a massive secret about their guest—and it might involve the “live wire” accident that sent John to their doorstep in the first place.

THE BRAX FACTOR

Meanwhile, the Bay is buzzing with the return of the legend himself, Brax. While his arrival is ostensibly to help Tane Parata flee the country before his trial, his presence has sent shockwaves through the community. Mackenzie, who orchestrated the reunion, finds herself caught in a web of lies. She tells Levi she’s just helping a friend, but as she spends more time huddled in secret meetings with the River Boys, Levi’s “thoughtful” support starts to turn into a full-blown interrogation.

“I have questions, Mac,” Levi finally snaps this week. “And I don’t think I’m going to like the answers.” Is Mackenzie risking her future—and her pregnancy—for a man who belongs in her past?
